Canada-wide warrant for second suspect in Khalid Doreh shooting
OTTAWA —The Ottawa Police Major Crime Section has issued a Canada- wide warrant for the arrest of Maher S. Majed, 21, of Ottawa for the suspected murder of Khalid Doreh in the Borthwick Avenue shooting on March 23.
Majed faces one charge of first degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.
He is described as of middle eastern descent, 6’1” (195cm) tall, weighs 230lbs (104kg), husky build, short black hair, brown eyes and facial hair.
Following Doreh’s death Zakaria Dourhnou ,19, of Gatineau, Québec , was arrested and charged on March 29 with first degree murder and on two counts of attempted murder after Ottawa detectives consulted with the Ottawa Crown Attorney’s office and withdrew two charges made against Dourhnou in Show Cause court on March 24accusing him of assault using a weapon.
