Canoeist missing on Lake Ontario believed drowned

DURHAM – A 26-year-old canoeist missing on Lake Ontario since Sunday is believed to have drowned.

The CFB Trenton Air and Sea Rescue officially ended their water search of Lake Ontario for the missing Ajax man on Tuesday after they found man’s canoe, life-jacket and paddles.

The Durham Regional Police Marine Unit is continuing its search for the man’s body.
