Vancouver – Public participation is credited with helping cops arrest a man who was caught on surveillance video starting a costly fire.
Police had earlier released a video from a neighbour’s surveillance camera showing the man torch a dry hedge. eventually two garages and cars within the property were burned.
Police said today they arrested 46-year-old Jason Acoose of Vancouver.
“VPD Arson investigators are crediting the public for tips which helped lead to the arrest of Mr. Acoose,” said a police statement.
“Just before noon yesterday, VPD patrol officers arrested Mr. Acoose near Commercial Drive and E 12th Avenue.”
Crown Counsel has approved 2 charges of Arson to Property against him.
