Vancouver – It’s a nice park for hiking – the problem is there’s an aggressive bear there.
The regional district’s parks branch says a bear trap has been set up to capture and relocate an aggressive bear seen in the southern portion of Lynn Headwaters Regional Park.
So the park authority is asking you to avoid two areas.
“As of Thursday afternoon, a bear trap has been set to capture and relocate the aggressive bear in the southern portion of Lynn Headwaters Regional Park and the LSCR,” a statement said.
“While the Varley Trail and the Connector Trail in Lynn Headwaters have reopened, the area is still under an Aggressive Bear Alert.
“It’s best to avoid the area if at all possible.”
“If you do hike in Lynn Headwaters Regional Park, it’s probably best to hike in a group for the time being. Also, remember to leash your dog and keep children close.”
