Burnaby man dies in Vancouver crash

Vancouver – A 54-year- motorcyclist died in an early morning collision with an SUV.

“The VPD is investigating a fatal collision that claimed the life of motorcyclist this morning on Vancouver’s West Side,” police said.

“At around 6:15 a.m., police were called to West Broadway near Yew Street for a collision involving a motorcycle and a SUV.

“Unfortunately, the 54-year-old Burnaby man, driving the motorcycle, died at the scene.

“The driver of the SUV, a 64-year-old Vancouver man, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the police investigation.”

This is Vancouver’s seventh traffic-related fatality in 2018.

Officers from VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have been driving in the area between 6 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. and has dash-cam footage.
