Redding – Authorities have reopened Interstate 5 between Redding and Mt. Shasta
The high volume freeway was shut down when an inferno torched rigs and fearful drivers fled as the Delta Fire erupted around them.
Cal Fire said the Delta Fire has burned 49,000 acres and is only 5 per cent contained.
“Interstate 5 between Redding and Mt. Shasta is open,” Cal Fire announced.
“Travel is reduced to one lane in each direction for approximately seventeen miles.”
“Motorists are asked to drive with caution, obey all traffic control operations and be patient. Lengthy delay. Flammable vehicles are not allowed.”
