Langley mom charged with killing her seven-year-old daughter

Aaliyah Rosa was just 7. She was found murdered in a Langley home in July. Her mother is now charged with second degree murder.

Langley, BC – A 36-year-old mom has been charged in the slaying of her daughter Aaliyah Rosa, 7.

Integrated Homicide squad detectives announced that Kerryann Lewis, 36,  was charged with second degree murder of her daughter Aaliyah Rosa.

She was to appear in court today.

Little Aaliyah was found dead on July 22, 2018 at approximately 9:30 p.m.,  when authorities were summoned to a call for help at a residence in the 20000-block on 68th Avenue in Langley.

The mother was then taken into custody and placed in the care of medical authorities.

At the time police asked the public not to panic, saying there was no threat to public safety.

They also asked for privacy for Aaliyah’s family.

Cpl. Frank Jang outlined the charges on Monday. But he did not provide details of what happened since the matter is now before the courts.
